Cocoa grinding in Côte d'Ivoire grows 16.1% in November

Ivory Coast, the world’s largest cocoa producer, recorded a significant 16.1% increase in cocoa milling in November 2024 compared to the same month the previous year, reaching a total of 60,694 tonnes. The figures, released by exporters’ association GEPEX, reflect the growing strength of the sector in the country. Since the start of the 2024/25 season in October, cumulative milling reached 119,777 tonnes by the end of November, an increase of 1.6% compared to the same period the previous season. This performance reinforces Ivory Coast’s role not only as a leader in cocoa production, but also as one of the main global processing hubs, competing directly with the Netherlands. GEPEX data includes the activities of six of the largest milling companies in the sector, including giants such as Barry Callebaut, Olam and Cargill Inc.
