Recently, Corteva introduced two new plant protection solutions, one derived from natural ingredients and the other inspired by natural formulations, to combat these destructive pests. One of them, Goltrevo, is a broad-spectrum microbial insecticide that can control certain piercing-sucking and chewing pests. Goltrevo is based on a new strain of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae 203, isolated from the palm weevil. This product can target and control pests such as corn leafhoppers, whiteflies, aphids, and stink bugs among piercing-sucking insects, as well as various root-feeding worms, beetles, and destructive caterpillars among chewing pests. According to Corteva, it has a longer shelf life and can significantly reduce the risk of pest resistance, ensuring stable application in different crops and agricultural systems such as corn, soybeans, sugarcane, forage, and fruits and vegetables.
