Coffee breaks price records: why the popular drink is getting more expensive

World coffee prices have risen sharply due to droughts in producing countries and a reduction in supply on the market. This is reflected in the cost of the drink in Ukrainian supermarkets. As economic expert Oleg Pendzin told UNIAN in a comment, while coffee bean prices on the world market have jumped 3.5 times, in Ukraine the cost of a cup of coffee has risen relatively little: "The increase in coffee prices in Ukraine is due to the increase in coffee prices on the world market, huge droughts in traditional coffee bean-producing countries, and a sharp decrease in coffee supply on the world market. Therefore, everything is objective. Look at what is happening on world markets - coffee is jumping like crazy."
