Brazil, the world's leading coffee exporter, is set to become the first country to produce coffee with a digital identity, thanks to a innovation from the Cerrado Mineiro Region. This technology, scheduled to launch in November, will verify the origin of the coffee, ensuring its integrity and providing greater security for producers and buyers. The technology uses artificial intelligence to generate a unique chemical fingerprint of coffees from the Cerrado Mineiro region, which will be available to coffee growers and the entire chain of custody. The project began in 2016 and involved collaboration with a New Zealand research company and the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
