The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecasts Brazil's total coffee production for the 2025-2026 crop year to reach 65 million bags, slightly higher than the 64.7 million bags estimated for the 2024-2025 crop year, mainly due to the expected decrease in arabica coffee production being offset by an increase in robusta coffee production. Total green coffee bean export volume from the beginning of the crop year to April decreased by 4.3% compared to the same period of the previous crop year, dropping to over 70.6 million bags. According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), by the end of May 2025, global coffee prices declined due to increased supply as Brazil and Indonesia enter their harvest seasons.
