According to the June 2025 report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), global coffee production in the 2025-2026 crop year is expected to reach a record 178.7 million bags (each bag 60 kg), an increase of 4.3 million bags compared to the previous crop year. This growth is mainly due to the recovery of production in Vietnam and Indonesia, along with the highest production ever recorded in Ethiopia. Meanwhile, global green coffee exports are forecast to increase by 700,000 bags, reaching 122.3 million bags. Global coffee consumption in the upcoming crop year is expected to reach 169.4 million bags, corresponding to an oversupply of around 9.3 million bags. In addition, increasing stocks are putting pressure on coffee prices.
