The Brazilian coffee bean crop for 2025 was estimated at 56.8 million 60 kg bags (3.4 million tons), according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The volume represents a 7% reduction compared to the 61.1 million bags harvested in 2024. The decline is mainly linked to arabica coffee, which suffers from negative bienniality and climatic problems recorded in the second half of 2024, such as excessive heat and lack of rainfall. The production of arabica coffee in 2025 was estimated at 37 million bags (2.2 million tons), a drop of 12.5% compared to the 42.3 million bags harvested in 2024. The decline is driven by Minas Gerais, responsible for almost 70% of the national crop of the variety, whose production is expected to fall to 25.7 million bags (-7.5% from the previous year).
