Colombia's coffee production saw a significant increase of 23% in June compared to the previous year, reaching 1.17 million 60kg bags, as reported by the National Federation of Coffee Growers. This marks a 4.6% rise from May's production. The June harvest alone accounted for 956,000 bags, and when compared to the same month in the previous year, exports increased by 36% to 1.02 million bags. From January to June 2023, Colombia's coffee production and exports both experienced growth, with production up by 16% to 5.82 million bags and exports up by 15% to 5.74 million bags. Over the past 12 months, the country's coffee harvest and exports increased by 14% and 7.6%, respectively. With a production capacity of approximately 14 million bags per year, Colombia is the world's third-largest coffee producer, supporting around 540,000 families who rely on the activity.
