In 2024, the Colombian agricultural export sector experienced a significant growth of +38%, with exports amounting to US$585 million, primarily driven by Hass avocados, Tahiti limes, and gulupa. These products have bolstered Colombia's standing as a major fresh fruit supplier in Europe and the United States, allowing the country to rank as the seventh largest non-European supplier to the Old World market. The Netherlands emerges as a key redistribution point for Colombian fruits, with the United States also showing strong demand. Despite these achievements, the sector faces hurdles such as climate change and new European regulations. In response, ProColombia is supporting exporters with initiatives aimed at boosting competitiveness and compliance with market standards.
