Colombia: Increase in Pork Meat Imports in March 2025

At the end of the first quarter, imports of pork products and by-products totaled 44,360 tons (t), representing USD 125.8 million CIF, which means an increase of 11.7% in volume and 11.2% in value compared to the same period in 2024. Specifically in March 2025, there was an increase of 45.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, rising from 11,683 t to 17,042 t. Compared to February, there was a growth of 16.7%. Products from the United States (70.2%), Canada (15.3%), and Chile (9.7%) represented 95.2% of total imports in March. Of the total imported in the month, 85.2% corresponded to the sum of the following categories: boneless frozen meat (40.0%), chops and ribs (36.2%), and other frozen pork meats (9.0%). ...
