Brazil will be able to export bovine blood meal to Colombia, according to a joint statement from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Foreign Relations (MRE). The high-protein input is used in the production of animal feed. "Colombia has around 52 million inhabitants and it is estimated that more than half of the families have at least one pet, which represents an important market for Brazilian producers in the sector," the ministries assess.
Brazil exported around US$ 863 million in agricultural products to Colombia in 2024, mainly paper and cellulose, refined sugar, coffee, and animal feed, according to the ministries.
So far this year, the country has achieved 171 market openings for national agribusiness products.
