A shipment of 19,000 kilos of pineapples is set to be exported from Colombia to Toronto, Canada, marking the country's first export to this destination. This is part of the government's effort to further internationalize the Colombian pineapple brand. Over 2,000 tons of pineapples have been exported to ten countries this year. The Colombian pineapple is known for its high vitamin C, carbohydrates, and protein content. The export process involves the collaboration of the ICA, ProColombia, the Ministry of Commerce, and the UPRA, among others, and is supported by the department of Cesar and Cýrdoba.
