The Department of Internal Trade, under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Jurin Laksanawisit, has stepped in to assist sea bass farmers in Songkhla Province who were struggling with low prices and a lack of market demand. A meeting with 140 farmers resulted in a solution where the Ministry of Commerce, in partnership with the private sector, agreed to purchase approximately 500 tonnes of sea bass at 130,000 baht per ton. This initiative aims to resolve the farmers' issues by ensuring a steady market for their produce, with the purchases expected to be completed within three months at a similar price.
