Trabzon, a city in Turkey, accounted for 34 percent of the country's hazelnut exports for the 2022-2023 season, totaling 101,858 tons valued at $615.6 million. Despite global inflationary pressures and decreased demand, Turkey was able to export nearly 300,000 tons of hazelnuts, which was considered a significant success. Sebahattin Arslantürk, Deputy Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, emphasized the need for efficient and quality-oriented support policies to preserve the value of hazelnuts and increase production in the Black Sea Region.
