Conab forecasts record grain production in Brazil in MY 2024/25

Thanks to the climate conditions and double harvests per year, Brazilian farmers are in a winning position and are consistently expanding their acreage. This is stated in the report of the National Supply Company (Conab), published on December 12. Conab forecasts record grain production at 322.4 mln tonnes, up 8.2% compared to MY 2023/24. The company estimates that 81.39 mln hectares will be planted this season, and if all production cycles of the year are taken into account, it corresponds to an increase of 1.45 mln hectares compared to the previous season. “The rains that have come have had a positive impact on crops in the major producing states. In some places, we had short periods of no rain, but not such a long drought to affect the estimate of a new record of grain production in Brazil,” said Edegar Pretto, president of Conab.
