Consistent rainfall helps Indiana crop conditions in United States

Consistent rainfall has benefited crop development across the state, according to the USDA. Corn is performing well, with 70 percent rated good to excellent and 89 percent silking. Soybeans are also progressing, with 86 percent blooming and 68 percent rated good to excellent. The second cutting of alfalfa is nearly complete at 92 percent, and the second hay cutting is 66 percent done. Topsoil moisture is 79 percent adequate to surplus, and subsoil moisture is 73 percent adequate to surplus.
