The 2024 blueberry export season in Ukraine saw a significant increase in both volume and revenue, with a 33% rise in exports to 5 thousand tons and a 56% increase in export value to $ 26 million. The average selling price also increased by 17.6% to over $ 5 per 1 kg. There was a notable shift in market dynamics, with the Netherlands overtaking Poland as the top importer of Ukrainian blueberries, reflecting a strategic pivot by producers towards higher margin EU markets. This shift underscores the importance of the Netherlands as a key hub in the European blueberry trade, with Germany emerging as a significant consumer and import market. The season also marked a positive trend towards collaboration among Ukrainian blueberry producers to streamline exports and reduce costs.
