Corn grain price forecasts in Poland

The silage corn harvest started very early this year – at the time of writing this article, in the second ten days of August, the first forage harvesters had already left for weak positions. Similarly, the grain corn harvest may also start earlier than usual. According to data from Prof. Tadeusz Michalski, president of the Polish Association of Corn Producers, this year is cultivated on approx. 1.15 million ha. In total, together with silage corn, the area of cultivation is similar to that in the record year of 2023 and exceeds 1.8 million ha. Due to drought, the harvest may be lower than in the previous season by 1 million tonnes, i.e. it may be around 7 million tonnes. However, according to the head of the PZPK, it is difficult to estimate it precisely at this stage, i.e. from the perspective of August.
