The article reports on the early start of the silage and grain corn harvest in Poland due to favorable weather conditions, with the first forage harvesters beginning in the second week of August. The total cultivation area, including both types of corn, is approximately 1.8 million hectares, similar to the record year of 2023. However, the harvest is expected to be reduced by 1 million tonnes due to drought, with some regions experiencing yields as low as 70-80% of the previous year. Corn prices for the season are anticipated to be high due to expected grain shortages, with wet corn around PLN 500 per ton and dry corn around PLN 800. The final assessment of the harvest, both in Poland and globally, is not yet available.
