Costa Rica's coffee exports in September were significantly lower than the previous year, with a decrease of 42,403 bags. Despite the drop, demand for Costa Rica's Arabica coffee remained strong, driving the average price to a new high in September 2022. The country sold most of its harvest abroad, but the 2021/2022 harvest saw a decrease in exports by 8.8%, totaling 1,055,662 bags. Production has also been reduced by changing weather conditions, inefficiencies in coffee replanting, and low harvests, leading to an 11.35% decrease, totaling 1,282,000 60kg bags in the last six months.
