Brazil, the second largest producer of beans, is expected to increase its planting area for export in Mato Grosso this year, despite the largest planted area being in Ceará. The cultivation of cowpea, however, remains a challenge in many regions, with grains often used for planting instead of seeds. In Bahia, beans are primarily grown to meet demand from other states. The National Supply Company (CONAB) predicts a 10% increase in production for the second harvest, amounting to approximately 402 thousand tons.
