A project in Poland is working to restore the population of noble crayfish in the Krypianki River near Zwoleń, as part of the 'Protection of biodiversity in Masovian landscape parks' project. The project, which is funded by the Regional Operational Program of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, has released 100 noble crayfish into the river and has successfully hatched around 8,000 young crayfish from caught females. The project aims to restore the species, which was once common in the region but was decimated by intensive exploitation and the introduction of non-native species.
