The 2021 crayfish season has commenced at Eğirdir Lake, which contributes to 80% of Turkey's crayfish production. The initiation was marked with a program that included religious observances and a sacrifice, in the company of the Mayor of Eğirdir, Veli Gök, and Ayhan Küçükköse, President of the S.S. Egirdir Central Fisheries Cooperative. Küçükköse expressed optimism about the growing crayfish population and anticipated increased production. The season is set to run from July 1 to November 1, 2021, with crayfish weights expected to cost around 20-25 liras.
