The Ultfarms European project, led by the Deltares Institute and involving 25 members from 9 countries, including the Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA), has been launched with funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe program. The project aims to enhance the production of algae and molluscs for consumption in offshore wind farms using six pilot plants in the North Sea and Baltic Sea. The goal is to promote European self-sufficiency, investigate circular cultivation structures, and use renewable energy to reduce the carbon footprint of aquaculture. CTA will be responsible for developing the business plan, market access, and intellectual property rights of the project's results.
