The Spanish Serrano Ham Consortium has reported a 10.78% increase in total exports of cured hams and shoulders in the first nine months of 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, amounting to 40,595.68 tons. The export value of cured ham has also surged by 15.47% to 420,408,798.48 euros, with the average price per kilo of ham rising to 10.36 euros. The European Union continues to be the largest market, accounting for 69.6% of exports, while Third Countries are increasingly contributing, with China, Japan, and Mexico showing significant growth. Boneless ham exports experienced a 12.09% increase in volume and a 16.13% increase in value. The United Kingdom and China are the markets with the highest prices for boneless ham.
