Dairy on the rise in Argentina; the price of drinkable yogurt skyrocketed

The Observatory of the Argentine Dairy Chain (OCLA) released its analysis on the results of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) prepared monthly by INDEC, where it stands out that the price of the category "Milk, dairy products and eggs" as a whole, they posted a monthly rise in July of 4.7% (1.7 percentage points above headline inflation). In relation to the accumulated of 2021, this category registered a rise of 38.3% at the national level, being 9.2 percentage points above the general CPI January-July (29.1%). Going to the specific section of dairy products and taking the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires as a reference market, in July of this year the most important increases were contributed by bar cheese + 6.7%, drinkable yogurt + 6.2% and cheese for grating + 5.9%.
