The Ministry of Agriculture and Food is considering the possibility of providing "de minimis" state aid to aquaculture producers affected by low water levels, Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Takhov announced at the latest meeting of the Advisory Council on Fish and Fish Products held at the ministry. With changes in the 2014 Euro Regulation from the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, a new maximum aid amount has been introduced for the fishing and aquaculture sector – up to 40 thousand euros for three budget years for one enterprise. The national ceiling for Bulgaria has been set at 760 thousand euros for three budget years, which will allow for real support for farms affected by low water levels.
