(Jeju=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Ho-cheon = An event commemorating the 10th anniversary of the designation of 'Citrus Day' to promote Jeju citrus will be held in Seoul.
Citrus Day is December 1, symbolizing 'the number one fruit of December, high-quality citrus with a sugar content of over 12 Brix and acidity of 1% or less.'
Jeju Province, Jeju Agricultural Cooperative, the Jeju Citrus Association, and the Citrus Stabilization Fund Management Committee announced that they will hold a promotional event titled 'Find Your Sweetness' at Bongeunsa Temple in Seoul on December 6-7 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Citrus Day.
This event, with the slogan 'Gyurallala, Enjoy Jeju Citrus,' will feature performances by comedian Yoon Seong-ho, known as 'New Jinseu-nim,' an alternate character (alter ego), and singer Beo, drawing attention with electronic dance music (EDM).
Visitors will be able to enjoy citrus tasting and variety introductions, learn about health benefits, participate in social media certification events, and more to discover the charm of citrus.
Additionally, a flea market will be held to showcase processed foods made from citrus and excellent products from small and medium-sized businesses of the Jeju Economic and Trade Promotion Agency.
Participants in the Hometown Love Donation Program will receive a gift set composed of Jeju agricultural and specialty products, including citrus.
Jeju Agricultural Cooperative and the Jeju Citrus Association have previously conducted citrus promotional campaigns at locations such as Goyang Starfield, Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, and Korean Folk Village.
