Russia's salmon catches are expected to decline in 2024 due to natural factors, according to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev. The decline is linked to the cyclical numbers of pink salmon generations in even and odd years. Despite this, Russian fishermen are able to meet domestic demand, with the catch stabilizing at around 5 million tons for the past five years. There has also been an increase in the production of pollock, herring, and sardine Iwashi this year.
