Decrease in the area of straw cereal in France due to the rains

The area of straw cereals (wheat, barley, oats, rye and triticale) will decrease by 6.1% this year in France compared to last due to the successive episodes of heavy rains that have been recorded in the country since mid-October of the year past. In total, the French Ministry of Agriculture estimates a planting of 6.8 million hectares, compared to 7.2 million in 2023.
