At the end of the 2024/25 marketing year in Ukraine, a shortage of sunflower oil is being observed on the domestic market, caused by the limited supply of sunflower seeds and the transition of most plants to processing soy and rapeseed, reports agronews.ua, citing data from the Electronic Exchange of Ukraine. Experts comment that the shortage in the supply of raw material for processing has led to a rise in prices for raw sunflower oil on the domestic market to 58,000-60,000 hryvnias per ton ($1,160-1,200/t), while export prices remained lower at $1,135-1,145/t. The forecast for sunflower production in Ukraine remains at the level of 13.5-14 million tons, despite the drought in some regions.
