Delays in ports exacerbate losses for coffee exporters, warns Cecafé

The arrival of the new coffee crop coincided with an aggravation of delays in Brazilian ports and increased logistics costs. In September, about 939 thousand bags failed to be shipped, which represents 2,848 containers. The direct loss to exporters was R$ 8.9 million, according to the Council of Brazilian Coffee Exporters (Cecafé). This was the third largest financial impact in the historical series of the entity, behind only the months of November and December 2024. The inability to ship also prevented the country from receiving US$ 348 million in foreign exchange revenue during the period.
