Delegation from African countries learns about goat and sheep production experiences in Brazil

A delegation of 15 people, bringing together government agents and rural producers from Botswana, Zambia and Lesotho, came to learn about goat and sheep production experiences in the states of Pernambuco, Paraíba and Piauí. The International Learning Route was organized by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Embrapa and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), with visits to cooperatives, dairies, slaughterhouses and research institutions in the Brazilian semi-arid region, during the week of 11 to 16 September, to discuss challenges and opportunities for these productive activities. The International Route met the demand of the countries involved, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between countries and encouraging exchanges between successful experiences of breeding, cooperativism and agroindustry in the production of goats and sheep.
