The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) in Paraguay has distributed 238 tons of biotech corn seeds across 11 departments in the eastern region, in response to drought and lack of rainfall. The seeds, each weighing 50 kilos, were delivered to peasant family farmers through the Agricultural Development Centers of the MAG. The project is funded by the Binational ITAIPU and implemented by UNOPS, and also includes fuel support for farmers.
