Demand for oil raises cotton boll price

According to the weekly analysis released by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) this Monday (3), the increase in demand for cottonseed oil has been sustaining the prices of cotton lint in the state. With the beginning of the harvest in July 2025 and the end of the off-season, the market for available cotton lint in Mato Grosso faced downward pressures, registering an average price of R$ 894.04 per ton in the last week of August. According to Imea, "despite the expected drop for the period, a recovery was observed as early as the first week of September." When comparing the quotations from the end of August with the survey conducted on October 23, the Institute pointed out a 5.97% appreciation, with the product priced at R$ 947.43 per ton.
