The Argentine meat-packing industry exported 10.1% more in the first eleven months of 2022 compared to the previous year, with a total of 825,000 tons of beef exported and invoicing of US$3,238 million, which is a 27.9% increase from 2021. However, the local market saw a decrease in demand for beef due to high prices, leading to a necessary price recovery to rebuild profits and increase production. The government's restriction on exports to prevent a price increase of more than 70% in the second half of the year has been criticized by the Chamber of Meat Industry and Commerce of the Argentine Republic (CICCRA).
