The Jeollanam-do Province conducted a joint public-private disaster preparedness training for jellyfish mass occurrence in the Deukryang Bay area of Goheung, involving the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Jeollanam-do Province, National Fisheries Research and Development Institute, Goheung County, and fishery workers. This is the first training since jellyfish mass occurrence was newly designated as a natural disaster. The training was carried out to strengthen joint public-private response capabilities for jellyfish occurrence and minimize fishery damage. A total of 10 vessels, including surveillance ships, marine cleanup vessels, and fishing boats, participated, and removal training was conducted using jellyfish crushers and cutting nets.
