Quang Ninh province in Vietnam is transforming its agricultural sector by introducing modern technology and high-value agricultural products. The company, Phuong Thuy Trading and Production Co., Ltd, is producing cordyceps, a product previously believed to be difficult to cultivate, and other products are being shifted from traditional to commodity forms. The province has two hi-tech agricultural zones and many businesses using modern technology in production. The department of agriculture is promoting the agricultural product processing industry and encouraging businesses to focus on the processing chain to increase the value of agricultural products and income for farmers. The province aims to develop concentrated agricultural production areas by 2030, restructuring processed products to increase high-value products and improve food quality, safety, and lower costs. Agricultural production areas are also being linked with tourism development, forming experience farming sites.
