Farmers in Dak Lua have experienced improved livelihoods by growing pumpkins for seeds, as it provides a higher income compared to rice and corn. In 2016, Mr. Mai Van Tan shifted 1ha of land for pumpkin seed cultivation, earning over 200 million VND from a single crop. Since then, around 40 farmer households have contracted with Viet Nong Company to grow pumpkin seeds over 16ha, taking advantage of the company's seed provision and agricultural guidance. The company requires adherence to specific growth techniques to ensure high-quality seeds. Pumpkin seeds are known for their nutritional value and are easily processed and sold.
