The PCRR/USAID Rural Competitiveness and Sustainability Project in Moldova is set to aid table grape growers in equipping intensive vineyards with rain protection and underground irrigation systems. The project aims to extend the harvesting period and maintain product freshness through the use of anti-rain film, which will also prevent berry cracking. Additionally, the project will support the expansion of table grape ranges, particularly seedless varieties, and facilitate legal coordination of their production. The project will benefit the approximately 400 hectares of Pergola and Gable type plantations in Moldova, which yield around 30-35 tons per hectare, mostly of the 'Moldova' variety.
