Dragon fruit, initially cultivated in Turkey in 2014, has emerged as the most profitable alternative crop, bringing in approximately 40,000 liras per acre. Bahire Timurtaş, who transformed a tomato greenhouse into a dragon fruit one, reported earning 40-50,000 TL annually from one acre. The region, which currently uses 130 decares of land for dragon fruit cultivation, is experiencing high demand, both domestically and internationally, with exports to countries like Russia, Ukraine, and Iraq.
