A recent investigation by the service 'Moja Gazetka' in partnership with Hiper-Com has revealed the impact of the new sugar tax introduced in Poland on the prices of carbonated beverages in January. The tax, consisting of a fixed and a variable fee, has led to a varied response in price adjustments across different retail outlets. The research highlighted a significant average price hike of 29.53% for carbonated drinks, with some products nearly doubling in price. The study primarily focused on beverages from Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, as well as energy and isotonic drinks, noting the most notable increases among them.
