Drones have been employed across various industries for over two decades, with notable adoption in agriculture. In Peru, over 35% of farmers use drones, benefiting from efficient resource use, reduced application times for crop protection, and cost savings. Drones can save up to 90% of water and are up to 50 times faster in applying chemicals compared to traditional methods. However, Peru lacks a clear legal framework for agricultural drone use. Pilot projects in Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico aim to establish networks to facilitate drone use, which could serve as models for Peru.
