Russian aggression has led to losses of 2 billion hryvnias from the death of animals and damage to livestock farms in Ukraine. The most affected areas were Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhya, with 206 enterprises destroyed or damaged. Despite these losses, which include 6,000 cows, 100,000 pigs, and over 3.5 million poultry, Ukraine's food security is not threatened and the domestic market is fully supplied with dairy, meat, and other products. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy is developing a method to calculate losses for private farms and is also providing concessional lending and grants to restore animal husbandry.
