Durian Prices Drop for Unexpected Reasons

On June 28, according to a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, the export-standard Ri 6 durian prices in the Southeast Region were purchased at the highest rates of 42,000 dong (Grade A) and 27,000 dong/kg (Grade B); export-standard Monthong durian was priced at 75,000 dong/kg for Grade A and 55,000 dong/kg for Grade B. Compared to the end of May 2025, Monthong durian prices dropped by around 8,000 dong/kg, while Ri 6 durian prices dropped by up to 16,000 dong/kg. Mr. Nguyen Van Muoi, Vice Secretary-General of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, said that durian prices in China remain good, but the issue is that Vietnam does not have many export-standard products. The current rainy season causes durian to deteriorate. As a result, a large number of products are classified as Grade C, D, or rejected.
