A collaboration between Earthworm, Florin AG, and Guadalcanal Plains Palm Oil (GPPOL) is providing agricultural training to over 230 smallholders in the Solomon Islands, aiming to improve resilience and agricultural practices across 710 hectares of oil palm plantations. The initiative focuses on sustainable practices, including riparian and forest restoration, and includes a One Hour Partnership Principle, ensuring access to necessary amenities within a reasonable distance. The partnership also highlights the importance of responsible sourcing and adherence to No Deforestation, Peat and Exploitation (NDPE) and Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) standards. The training is designed to enhance farmers' livelihoods and conserve forests, with initial results showing improvements in plantation upkeep and crop yields.
