Indonesia: East Java reaches meat self-sufficiency

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- The East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jatim) stated that it has achieved meat self-sufficiency so that it is able to supply the needs of people in other areas. "We are optimistic that in the future East Java will be able to help Indonesia achieve meat self-sufficiency," said East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa while attending the 2023 East Java Livestock Development Achievement in Surabaya, Saturday (25/11/2023). According to him, surplus meat production from East Java cattle breeders has been supplied to meet the needs of people in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas.
