The European Commission has launched a new call for proposals under the European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), providing EUR 5.7 million to support sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and the blue economy in EU sea basins. The funding aims to promote innovation, technological development, and Smart Specialisation in sectors such as fisheries, aquaculture, marine renewable energy, blue biotechnology, and coastal tourism. The geographical focus includes the Black Sea, Atlantic, Western Mediterranean Sea basins, and EU Outermost regions. Applications can be submitted electronically by 18 February 2025, and an online Info Day is scheduled for 15 October to provide more information about the call and the application process.
