(Agraria.pe) The Ecuadorian Agency for Phytosanitary Regulation and Control (Agrocalidad) issued a memorandum on August 4, 2025, requesting the temporary suspension of the entry of Peruvian grapes (Vitis vinifera) as a preventive measure. The document formally requests the suspension of phytosanitary import certificates for this fruit. Reasons for the suspension of phytosanitary certificates The request is based on analytical results from four samples taken at the Huaquillas Border Inspection Post – CEBAF, originating from Peru, which showed the presence of residues of the pesticides Chlorpyrifos, Iprodione, Methomyl, Monocrotophos, Dicrotophos, Chlorpyrifos (ethyl), Thiabendazole, Cyflufenamid, Flutriafol, Isoprothiolane, and Pyraclostrobin at levels exceeding the Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) established by Ecuador.
