In June 2021, Russia experienced a significant surge in agricultural trade, with record imports of cherries and watermelons, and a notable re-export of these fruits to neighboring countries. Cherries, making up 54,000 tons of the import, were predominantly sourced from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, while watermelons, mainly from Turkey, saw a slight increase in imports over the previous year. Garlic imports, however, reached a record low, reflecting last year's high levels. The demand for Brazil nuts surged fourfold in June, whereas raspberry imports experienced a significant decline. The re-export of apricots and peaches was also notable, with Ukraine being the primary destination. The re-export of melons and eggplants through Russia also saw an increase, primarily to the CADLO of Ukraine.
