During a field day organized for sesame producers in Bayramiç district of Çanakkale, a mechanized sesame harvest was carried out. A total of 8 sesame varieties, including 7 varieties developed by the Aegean Agricultural Research Institute and 1 local variety, were introduced to the producers. These varieties, which offer the possibility of mechanized harvesting, attracted great interest from the producers. In Ağaçköy village of Bayramiç district, a mechanized sesame harvest was carried out during the field day organized for sesame producers. The harvesting of organic certified, domestic and national sesame varieties with a special improved machine was demonstrated to the producers. The mechanized harvesting application implemented in Bayramiç has the potential to make the production a more attractive sector for producers by alleviating the labor-intensive process.
